Hiring a Maintenance Technician. This is a hire-in opportunity based on performance and attendance.
Company manufactures custom roll formed and stamped metal products. They provide various manufacturing capabilities which include roll forming, stamping, welding, and various other assembly processes. Many of our customers see us as a one-stop-shop for their structural and decorative metal needs.
**Monday-Thursday, Day Shift**
The primary function of this position is to support production activities along with continuous improvement initiatives. This will be accomplished by performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to preventative maintenance schedule and production needs. Controls experience would be a plus.
Requirements:
Visual acuity and color vision sufficient to perform the required job functions.
High School diploma, G.E.D. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years experience in equipment repair/maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Basic machining skills.
Demonstrate competency in MIG welding.
Must have a general knowledge of RS Logix, Panel builder and Microsoft Office.
Experience with electrical, pneumatics (air systems), lubrication systems, and hydraulic systems.
Working knowledge of production equipment.
Capable of using basic inspection tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver license.
Must maintain an acceptable driving record for company liability insurance purposes.
Knowledge with OSHA and MIOSHA safety requirements.
Essential Functions:
Work with area Leads and Operators to continuously improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
Perform preventative machine maintenance as needed.
React to production breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
Utilize maintenance software as required.
Provide equipment evaluations based on repair history. Work with Leads and Manufacturing Support Manager to continuously improve Preventive and Predictive maintenance activities.
Conduct operator training on maintenance issues as required.
Lead cross-functional teams.
Submit weekly report of consumable and repairable parts needed.
Contribute to the overall Environmental Health and Safety of the Plant.
Maintain acceptable housekeeping in area assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment: Job is performed in a shop environment. Long periods of standing will be required on a hard concrete floor. The temperature varies depending on the season. The noise level in the Shop exceeds 85 decibels and hearing protection is mandatory and provided. Steel is very sharp and great caution must be exercised to avoid injury. Protective gloves are provided for this purpose. The environment is often oily.
Physical Requirements: Person must be able to stand for extended periods of time. This position regularly requires the ability to walk, reach, bend, and stand repetitively. It may be necessary to lift upwards of fifty pounds.
