Arch Staffing and Consulting located in Grand Rapids, MI. We are currently seeking a fabricator/welder for a local manufacturer in Grand Rapids.

SUMMARY: This Fabricator Welder position uses raw steel to mig weld structural frames for machinery by following blueprints/mechanical engineering drawings.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Fabricates by welding sheet metal and structural steel to correct dimensions
  • Fabricates welded sheet metal parts and structural steel frames to the correct dimensions per print from a collection of prints
  • Grinds all outside welds smooth
  • Reads blueprints/mechanical engineering drawings
  • Lays out holes to proper dimensions per prints
  • Demonstrates knowledge of mig welding applications
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Tig welding fabrication experience on structural steel and sheet metal required
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
    SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • History of good attendance
  • Task oriented
  • Good math skills with ability to convert decimals to fractions
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures
  • Accuracy in reading a tape measure
  • Ability to read, understand parts list and fill out quality check sheet
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints/mechanical engineering drawings
