Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Director of Accounting to join our team. This position is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting to management and coordinates financial activities for the accounting, accounts payable and payroll departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing reconciliations and schedules for SEC filings and other external reports
  • Assist in development of internal control policies, guidelines and procedures for all financial activities
  • Coordinate the consolidation and inter-company elimination for multiple entities
  • Coordinate with various departments for all projects to ensure completion
  • Develop processes and procedures for improved or new accounting and payroll activities
  • Direct activities for accounts payable, accounting and payroll departments
  • Maintains responsibility for financial consolidation and reporting for the company
  • Manages Accounting, Payroll and Accounts Payable managers including hiring, performance management and terminations
  • Prepare financial data on multiple legal entities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Employment is contingent on
  • Background investigation (company-wide)

  • Valid driver' s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor' s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Three years Public Accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant License
  • Seven years accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Lawson experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
  • Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
  • Knowledge of all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, which affect financial transactions
  • Knowledge of applicable FASB accounting rules
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands
  • Lift and carry office equipment at times around the office
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking or listening
  • Requires close vision to small print on computer / tablet and or paperwork
