Job Description:

Apply electrical and control theory to test, modify and diagnose the electronic and electrical components on all production and plant equipment.  This position will assist in providing support to the operation.  Help to ensure the resources needed are provided in a timely fashion.   Maintain and  supporting Company culture and policies.

 

Main Responsibilities:

Diagnose and resolve causes of electrical and mechanical malfunctions on all equipment.

Assist the maintenance department in installing new electronic/electrical control equipment and making it operational.

Develop engineering specifications for electrical control systems and equipment modifications.

Provide technical support to the maintenance department when required; Plan, direct and record periodic electrical analysis on the production equipment.

Recommend and initiate modifications or replacement of equipment which fail to meet operating standards.

Provide training for the maintenance department on the operation and diagnostics of the machine controls and motor controllers.

Research and implement cost effective upgrades to the equipment and facilities.

Research and implement the most cost-effective replacement of electrical control parts.

Provide technical support (as needed) for the office computers and computer systems.

Keep updated electrical drawings and schematics on all production and plant equipment.

Maintain master backups for all machine programs.

Recommend electrical spare parts inventory for all new and existing production equipment to insure maximum machine utilization.

Develop programming and provide support for Programmable Logic Controllers, robots, and Panel Views to maximize both quality and production.

Develop new and support old programming using RS Logix 5000, Factory Talk ME, My SQL, Ignition, OPC and RS Logix 500.

Actively intervene to correct recognized unsafe actions and conditions.

Follow all safety guidelines established by this facility daily.

All other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to perform satisfactorily within the requirements for hours and physical location. 

Education:

Bachelor’ s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical) or Associates Degree with equivalent experience/training

 

 

 

 

 

Work Experience:

5 (five) years in a similar position and a sound working positions practices and systems. 

Responsible to keep current on systems and practices.

Leadership ability and ability to provide direction effectively under different circumstances are required.

Demonstrate excellent written, oral and math skills

  • Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and motivate employees
  • Flexibility to work other shifts and overtime
  • Strong knowledge of Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or communicate with all levels of employees and outside service providers.
  • Strong computer (excel, word processing, email, etc.) and math skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workday schedule and work with minimal Supervision.

      Ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English.

 

Requirements:
  • Ability to work in an office environment that is connected and requires activities in a non-climate-controlled facility.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 2-3 hours before a break.
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy machinery and heavy equipment. Knowledge of safe equipment operation – crane, injection molding machine, paint booth, etc.
