OB INFORMATION
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Tax Manager to join our team. We are looking for a tax expert to manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of our organization' s state and federal tax returns. The ideal candidate would have a range of experience preparing and reviewing business tax returns. The Tax Manager will ensure compliance with federal and state tax law and will monitor current and impending changes to tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies. In this position, you are responsible for reviewing and managing tax compliance and reporting for all federal income tax and multi-state income, franchise, property, and sales and use taxes. The position is also responsible for researching and implementing tax saving procedures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in the preparation and filing of federal, state and local income tax returns
  • Reviewing all Sales and Use tax returns to ensure accurate and timely compliance
  • Prepares Allocation and Apportionment schedules used to create state and city tax return data to ensure accuracy and timely compliance with state law
  • Responsible for researching tax issues and implementing necessary changes that affect the organization
  • Manage state tax audits
  • Prepares federal and state tax estimates
  • Prepares quarterly income tax provisions
  • Supervises Tax Accountants
  • Provides verbal and written performance feedback to direct reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned




QUALIFICATIONS
Employment is contingent on
  • Background investigation (company-wide)
  • Drug screen ( when applicable for the position )
  • Valid driver' s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable for the position)

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor' s degree in Accounting or related field, required
  • 5-7 years tax experience, required
  • Prior supervisory experience, preferred
  • Master' s degree in Accounting or Tax, preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Experience working with Vertex, Corptax, Laserfiche and CCH Answer Connect

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Effectively communicate in English; both oral and written
  • Interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual)
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of income tax preparation, regulations, compliance, and related issues
  • Knowledge of Sales and Use tax concepts
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem solving skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Lift and carry office equipment at times around the office
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking or listening
  • Requires close vision to small print on computer / tablet and or paperwork
